They say
poetry is pointless
Words just whispered in air
or shouted out in rhythms and
punctuated
pauses
to emphasize with flair!
They say
no one reads poetry
Who has the time to spare?
with so much going on
in the world and at home,
how can one even care?
They say
poems are like assholes
or I mixed that somewhere
I tend not to listen
when the rhymes are not there.
